YELENA YORK

WHEN I WANT

TO SEE

I CLOSE

MY EYES

Yelena York is a Visual Artist living in America. Throughout the past 10 years as an artist, Yelena has managed to impress art critics and collectors with her exquisite detailed works. York’s first collection was created with markers and 22 karat gold leaves on canvases. She mastered the art of using markers and making them look like brushed paintings, which earned her recognition and international awards.

York followed her career by creating her own extremely detailed style of pointillism/ stippling works that had never been seen before in the Art world. Over 5 million Ink dots have been used on each piece of art to create the realistic and deep color tones of the ink, further accentuated by adding her unique style of layering paint patterns until they become 3 dimensional to complete the look. Yelena’s meticulous pen and ink pieces leave no room for error, each finished to precision with no mistakes, lest she begin all over again. A true perfectionist at heart, York brings her magical energy and impeccable form to each piece that can only be admired with awe and appreciated for its own excellence. York already has an impressive list of exhibitions and private collectors and, adding to that list, received the award for Best Artist at the Oxford International Art Fair in 2015, Dubai Best Artist Award 2018, and MUSA International Venezia Art Biennale Award 2019, UNESCO Woman’s Essence Show 2020 in Rome.

York latest invite only Solo Exhibition took place in October 2021 , Los Angeles.

The solo show was titled “I AM” . Her new collection features artwork infused with only three colors. York’s novel concept incorporate more ” Feeling Emotions” rather than the “Physical.”

Artist statement

My new body of works represent Me and You and all the shades and layers in between us. By using only 3 colors to create the whole collection, I was able to bring out the deepness in each movement as well as how deep of emotions it has. In my opinion, black and white contain the most layers within them. In times, black and white is the heaviest burden to carry, as there are times we get caught up in the middle shades, where we can see it all, and yet not be able to make a choice to go pitch black or to shine the brightest. Having this fact in my heart, I knew it was missing the truth, which is the Blood that runs through our veins, that without it we would be only an energy, not human, and so red has become the primary color, as a reminder.

In the collection you can see forms, yet they are in a blur, this was mainly done to take the attention away from the lines and to concentrate more on creating a Feeling - a moment that was forgotten, pushed to a side or fought for.

Paintings represent Strength in any form, they represent the core essence of us, to connect and to let ourselves just BE.
